"Public policy is our Love in writing."
Mayor Kobi is leading a generation of young people from protests to real policy change. View our legislative accomplishments and share them with your local government.
VALUING BLACK LIVES
The first #BlackLivesMatter organizer elected to public office in America, Mayor Kobi campaigned and governs with unapologetically Black politics. He was the first to note & promote South Fulton as "The Blackest City in America." As Mayor, he continues to pursue his vision of making South Fulton a real-life Wakanda, in the style of legendary American communities like Rosewood, Florida & Greenwood (Tulsa), Oklahoma can be seen his bold legislative agenda.
On July 11, Noni Battiste-Kosoko was found alone, face down and unresponsive in her cell at the Atlanta City Detention Center, managed by the Fulton County Jail. A diagnosed, schizophrenic, Kosoko was arrested for missing a court date. Her death came just six days after her 19th birthday.
Kosoko is on of ten Fulton County detainees found dead this year while awaiting trial. Fulton County's Jail is now under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice. |
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & GREEN NEW DEAL

Kobi's bold vision for a vibrant South Fulton that attracts young professionals, celebrates seniors and protects our precious, natural environment can be seen in his legislation below.
SUPPORTING WORKING FAMILIES & FAIR LABOR

He continues his commitment with this bold legislation.
POLITICAL EDUCATION & TRANSPARENCY
Mayor Kobi brought the same passion for political education he developed in #BlackLivesMatter to America's Blackest City. When the new City of South Fulton had no Communications Director or website, then-Councilman khalid transformed his campaign website — khalidCares.com, now KobiCares.com — into the city's first news outlet & information clearinghouse. Kobi continued his commitment to government transparency, writing the legislation for the city's first Ethics Board. Kobi led a two-year fight to make Election Day as a full, paid holiday. South Fulton became is the first city in the South, and only the second in the nation, to do so. More groundbreaking legislation by Mayor Kobi is below.
